Kingston Modular Systems design and manufacture bespoke modular buildings for all budgets in their Hull-based factory, servicing clients across the UK.

At their factory, the company produces hundreds of modular buildings each year which are then shipped to resellers UK-wide. Each building is sizeable – similar to a static caravan – and heavy to move.

Needed a tow tug to move their buildings from the factory to the yard ahead of dispatch.

They made contact with our team about a tow tug that would make moving their units from A to B safely. Our team suggested the V-Move XXL electric tow tug manufactured by market leader Verhagen Leiden.

V-Move XXL unit can move loads up to 2000kg with many configurations available to adapt the unit for its required use. It is extremely compact, making it simple to use and store, with many safety features, including an automatic handbrake that stops the unit from moving even on an incline. A long-life battery keeps the tow tug operational for one to two working days, saving workers from becoming tired or injured carrying weighty materials.

After a successful demonstration of the tow tug in action, Kingston Modular chose to buy the unit. Before shipping, we added a 600kg weight to the top of the unit to stabilise it. Also, the standard-fitting hydraulic ram was not the correct specification for the client, who required something that would go lower to the ground.  Instead, our team fitted a bespoke ram to the front of the V-Move XXL unit.

Happy with their electric tow tug which they have been using daily for the oast twelve months without any issues.
