St Gobain, headquartered in Loughborough, is a world leader in manufacturing light, sustainable construction materials used for building, transportation and infrastructure.
At the company’s factory in Huddersfield, production teams make glass for various applications across the UK. As you will appreciate, glass is one of the trickiest construction materials to move at any stage of the production cycle and from the factory to the warehouse once fully constructed too! It also involves multiple components to make glass, some of them heavy and dangerous – like huge tubs of powdered chemicals. All of this makes glass manufacturing an extremely high-risk job, requiring specialist equipment to make the process safe for manufacturing and logistics teams – and that’s why St Gobain approached Industar for a solution.
The company required a solution to move various wheeled items around the factory. Pushing and pulling trolleys unaided was proving a strain to their most valuable resource: their staff. They asked to see the V-Move S electric tow tug in action to assess its pulling capabilities.
