Moving moulds to be installed to production lines
Blanson Ltd is an acrylics engineer based in Leicester, UK, designing and manufacturing products for use in the medical, pharmaceutical and marine industries.
To produce thousands of uniform customer products relies on creating carefully-designed moulds, which Blanson puts together onsite and installs on their production lines using specialist tools. Without the moulds, the production line would quickly grind to a halt – and factory downtime means financial losses. Engineers use trolleys to move the moulding tools around the site and to and from the equipment stores quickly and carefully, yet this is tiring, time-consuming and cumbersome.
The team at Blanson had grown used to moving their trolleys manually but knew there was a more efficient way to get the job done, reserving their energy to work on fitting the moulds into place. They approached Industar to ask if we had an electric tow tug that would lend their team a hand to make their job easier. We knew just the unit perfect for overcoming their challenge and giving the team their time (and energy) back!
The V-Move XL-HD electric tow tug is a strong unit with a pulling power suitable for heavy loads weighing up to 5,000kg. Highly versatile, it has options for multiple fittings dependent on the application, with security features including a light and siren to make people aware of its presence. It is easy to manoeuvre, highly stable, and capable of working quickly to safely transport its tow from A to B, staying powered all day after an overnight charge.
After demonstrating the V-Move XL-HD towing device at their site in Narborough, Blanson liked what they saw and purchased the unit with our suggested modifications. Our team fitted solid tires, counterweights for additional stability and a motion siren before delivery. We also attached a pin to the rear of the unit, designed to hook easily to an A-frame, of which Blanson purchased several from us and fitted themselves to their trolleys.
Our customer uses their V-Move XL-HD tow tug daily and is extremely happy with it. The tug stays free of issues thanks to regular servicing, and Blanson appreciates our support as and when required.
