Moving trolleys around the hospital
NHS Manchester Trust provides healthcare services to residents in the northwest of England, with eight hospitals under its governance and each handling large numbers of patients daily.
The Trust made contact with us to enquire into our towing tugs. They wanted a solution for the safe moving of trolleys across their hospitals, specifically, in and out of wards and cleanroom environments. The tugs needed to move several trolleys across sites every day and help to mitigate the risk to staff caused by manual handling.
Our team demonstrated the electric tow tug V-Move M from Verhagen Leiden, a towing device suited to pulling or pushing small trolleys up to 1500 kg in weight. It is compact and easy to store away when not in use, perfect for a healthcare environment where space is a premium. The unit also benefits from running quietly without generating fumes, making it ideal for indoor use in the Trust’s hospitals.
After purchase, our team customised the unit fitting non-marking tires before shipping it to the Trust. Since then, it has been serviced regularly and has never once faltered, leaving the client completely satisfied with the product and our after-sales service.
NHS Manchester Trust has since approached Industar for additional units in the Verhagen Leiden range, based on the success of their original purchase, and Industar is also supporting other NHS Trusts throughout the UK with similar products.
