Volaire Aviation, based in the UK’s south, is a private aviator supporting customers with all aspects of investing in and owning a helicopter or jet.

At their purpose-built facility at London Oxford Airport, multiple aircraft types come through their doors for refurbishment, repairs and maintenance, or charter flights. It is a bustling environment that sees planes and choppers constantly on the move, both in the air and on the ground.

It’s at ground level where the team from Volaire Aviation is at its busiest, taking vehicles and equipment into the workshop for servicing. Their staff were finding it difficult to move the planes and heavy cleaning items around the facility using people-power alone – risky and inefficient. They required support from a tow tug to take the strain, with the flexibility to move different types and sizes of planes. Our team demonstrated the V-Move XL+ tow tug at the customer’s airport facility, and the Volaire staff liked what they saw – a versatile tug that would handle their many types of aviation vehicles on demand. Consequently, they ordered a unit, which we shipped immediately as a standard configuration, with optional hitchings, tow balls and pins to hook up to different plane types.
