Safely moving Danish trolleys around gardens
The Savill Garden sits within the grounds of Windsor Great Park in London, a 5,000-acre stretch of land that welcomes millions of visitors each year to enjoy time together outdoors.
As part of the Royal Family’s Crown estate, the park and gardens are extremely well kept to a high standard, with plants shipped in and out regularly to keep the grounds looking immaculate while reflecting the changing seasons. The horticultural staff use Danish trolleys to move the plants around the garden and to and from the visitor centre, which can be heavy when filled and often have to navigate uneven or different terrain on route. Transporting several trolleys every day takes its toll on the staff, a keen green-fingered team committed to the upkeep of the grounds and yet not wanting to risk their health pushing and pulling heavy loads.
The estate managers contacted our team in 2021 to see what we could do to help ease the strain on their staff. When it comes to moving Danish trolleys, we always recommend the V-Move EDV tow tug from Verhagen Leiden, specifically built to move these tall trolleys easily, even with the shelves fully loaded to 350kg capacity.
The V-Move EDV tug comes with a flatbed which keeps the trolley and its load still and secured during transit. It is equipped with a heavy-duty motor and large wide wheels, allowing the driver to pull a trolley easily – or up to 3 trolleys when preconfigured to do so. An overnight charge of 5-8 hours ensures the battery is powered and the unit is ready for the day ahead.
