Moving water pumps on trailers
The Environment Agency helps protect the environment and improve spaces occupied by people and wildlife in the UK. It is a government body with depots throughout the UK that collectively manage our coast, countryside, waterways and waste.
Our client contacted our team in 2018 for help moving trailered water pumps across their site in Sunbury-on-Thames. The pumps are heavy – weighing up to 2000kgs on average – meaning a human cannot move them. Previously, the client had used a vehicle to transport the pumps, requiring specially trained and licensed operatives – both difficult and time-consuming – so they came to Industar to simplify the process.
Our team visited the site and provided a demonstration of the V-Move XL-HD electric tow. With a towing capacity of up to 5000kgs, it is perfect for towing heavy trailered objects. It comes with a standard trailer hitch with interchangeable tow ball and pin, making it simple to attach or detach its load, and is easy to steer whether pulled or pushed. Two 12v batteries last for 1-2 days and charge quickly overnight, ready for use the following morning.
The Environment Agency initially purchased one unit, which has run efficiently for three years. It is serviced annually and continues to run effectively, with only one issue since purchase – a faulty part; our team quickly arranged for its replacement under the manufacturer’s warranty. They have subsequently purchased additional units for more of their UK depots, and with no further issues reported, our client is happy with the products and our service.
