Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, based in Northamptonshire, UK, designs, manufactures and tests power units used in Formula 1 racing cars – with prestigious customers like Aston Martin, McLaren and Williams on their books.
Their technology centre in Brixworth is a constantly busy hub of activity, as a team of 500 staff works tirelessly on creating components to power some of the fastest cars on the planet. As you would appreciate, these are heavy items to move – engines and other equipment designed specifically to drive speed and performance. This highly confidential and expensive kit requires moving from production to fitting with the utmost care to avoid damage, with wheeled trolleys helping transport items around the site safely.
The team from Mercedes contacted Industar and asked for help purchasing an electric mover. They had read about the V-Move M tow tug manufactured by leaders in towing devices, Verhagen Leiden, and wanted to know the price and availability. We offered to demonstrate the unit on site, which they politely declined, instead purchasing the unit immediately, which our team delivered to the facility in Brixworth quick-smart.
The V-Move M tow tug is a compact device popular in manufacturing and warehouse facilities. With the capacity for towing weights up to 1,500kg, it is the perfect unit to move small trolleys, crates and metal stillages, with several hitches available to suit different tow loads, including towing eyes, a-frames, pins and tow balls. Powered electrically, the unit emits no fumes and minimum noise, and charges overnight for all-day use. It takes up very little space, making the ideal tow tug to store away and use daily in a small but busy manufacturing environment.
Since taking delivery, the team at Mercedes has been impressed with their V-Move M tow tug, used daily on site.
