M Group Services delivers essential infrastructure services to support construction workers in the UK’s water, energy, telecoms and transport industries. Working in 240 locations and with a turnover of almost 2 billion annually, they are one of the UK’s largest infrastructure providers.

It takes massive amounts of equipment to support the construction industry – and much of it is heavy! From huge generators relied on for power in remote locations to welfare units providing a safe space for construction workers, it takes great effort to move these items to sites up and down the country – and it is just as tricky once they arrive to position each one precisely where it needs to be on a site.

M Group needed a reliable towing device they could use at their depot in Stevenage to move heavy equipment between the stores and repair workshops, and to transport plant machinery, power generators and welfare units on arrival at work sites across the UK. They asked Industar to recommend a device with maximum power, reliability and flexibility – and we had just the solution: the V-Move XL-HD.

Manufactured by leaders in tow tugs, Verhagen Leiden, the V-Move XL-HD unit provides unquestionable pulling power for large, heavy items of all shapes and sizes. An overnight battery charge keeps the device running smoothly for 1-2 days at a time, capable of pulling load after load without losing power. A range of interchangeable fittings make the V-Move XL-HD one of the most flexible tugs around, easy to hitch to any style of tow bar and move its load safely and efficiently.

Initially, M Group requested only one V-Move XL-HD unit as a standard configuration, primarily for use at their depot. On seeing the tow tug in action and being impressed with its capabilities, the team ordered two more units to increase the mobility of essential equipment on work sites.
