Waste management is a huge responsibility for local councils, and it’s no different in Chesterfield. With over 100,000 residents and plenty of visitors coming to the town to see its many attractions, waste quickly builds up – in street bins, shopping centres, parks and public amenities. It’s down to the council to keep all bins free of rubbish, cleared quickly to prevent them from over-spilling and causing a danger to the public and local businesses.
A council representative approached Industar to enquire about a tow tug to help move large waste bins from their usual spot to the refuse collection truck and back again. The brief was to source a simple towing device for their workers to use, safe, and economical, as the council was constantly working to a tight budget. Equally important was finding an environmentally friendly solution that aligned with their green initiatives.

The V-Move XL-HD is the perfect tow tug for moving heavy waste bins, easily pulling loads weighing up to 5,000kg. It is simple to operate with high manoeuvrability and large tires providing good stability over all terrain and on inclines. A warning light and siren help the driver warn pedestrians of its presence in built-up areas. Powered by a long-life battery, the tow tug produces zero emissions and presents an environmentally friendly, economical solution.
After seeing a demonstration, the council agreed this unit was ideal for the task and immediately placed an order. They opted for a standard configuration unit, which we shipped to their stores quickly.
