Carnaby Caravans, based in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, are a leading manufacturer of high-end static caravan holiday homes and lodges, serving their customers since 1976.
The buildings produced by the team at Carnaby’s factory come in various sizes, yet they all carry some serious weight. Even the smallest static home is heavy enough to warrant support to move it – it certainly isn’t something one or even several people can manage to pull easily without using technical equipment. With several statics to move across their factory and work facility every day, Carnabys needed a solution to help keep their statics on the move while keeping staff safe and free from injury.
On request, in came the experts in the supply and maintenance of electric tow tugs: Industar. Based on the weights being moved and the repetitive nature of the work, our team recommended several options to tow the static buildings safely around the site. After multiple visits and product demos, including different configurations for each one, the customer opted for the V-Move XL electric tug from Verhagen Leiden.
A mid-size tow tug, the V-Move XL moves loads up to 2,000kg simply and safely. It comes in a range of configurations adaptable to suit the application and is compact enough to store away simply when not required. Numerous safety features give the operator peace of mind – including an automatic handbrake, warning lights and siren. A long-life battery keeps the tow tug up and running for two days at a time, saving workers from becoming tired or injured when pulling their loads.
Carnaby Caravans purchased their V-Move XL electric tow tug as a standard configuration, which our logistics team delivered quickly to their Bridlington depot for immediate use.
So far, so good, and the customer has confirmed they are incredibly happy with their unit from Industar. It continues to go the distance daily for their staff, making life much easier than it was in the past – not to mention safer and less risky. That’s another happy customer, which makes us happy too!
